Whit is 6 months old

It seems like yesterday that I found out that I was pregnant. I cannot believe that my sweet baby is already 6 months old. He is sitting up, rolling over, and drooling all over everything! I must say, it has been a great 6 months since he has been in our lives. He truly is a blessing from God, and I cherish each and every day I spend with him! I love you booger!

Can you tell that he loves to be naked? I guess he feels free! haha

Whit's First Christmas

I cannot believe that Whit's first Christmas has come and gone! This year with him was so much fun, I can't imagine what the next year will be like. I must say, it was sad packing up all those cute little Christmas outfits that he will never wear again.

We decided to do Santa Claus for him this year, even though he didn't really know it. I think it was more fun for us. He just got a few toys and an outfit. We didn't do very much. We actually had him come on the eve of Dec 23, since we spent the night at my parents on Christmas Eve. The next night was spent at Clay's parents. I never knew a 5 month old could get so much stuff for Christmas. My parents had to bring up most of our stuff the Saturday after Christmas (we couldn't get it all in the car). Clay and I have decided that we will definitely have to get a larger vehicle when the next child comes along!

Santa Hoppers

After attempting a time or two, Whit finally got to meet Santa this weekend. After standing in line and watching child after child cry when placed in Santa's lap, I had no doubt that Whit could handle him. When he laid eyes on Santa, he just stared and laughed! I must say, I have a very good baby. He is so laid back. He laughs at everything!

The line was short while we were shopping in Northpark, so we hopped in it

Then, Sunday we made a visit to Bass Pro Shop
and saw Santa there. We decided to all jump
in that picture! It was fun.

The Nerd Herd

Ok, so I know that Halloween was some time ago, but I thought I would start my blogging experience with something that would let you know who I am. I, am a nerd. Several years ago I got this crazy idea to step outside the box and come up with my own unique and unusual costume. I actually got my inspiration from the movie Revenge of the Nerds from the 80s. Yes, I decided to dress up like a nerd. I know what you are thinking, "you probably just used your own clothes, right?" Actually, I borrowed some old clothes from my grandfather's closet. They probably hadn't been worn since the 80s. I played the part, right down to the pocket protector and glasses with tape to hold them together! The important thing to remember is, not to get out of character while dressed as a nerd.

When I revealed what I wanted to do to Clay he decided he would jump on the bandwagon and be a nerd too! Oh, I knew we were going to have some fun with this one. And a tradition was born. Yes, we probably look pretty ridiculous-two grown adults not only dressed up, but dressed as nerds. We don't care how stupid we look. If it makes someone laugh, then we are pleased. We love making people laugh, even it means embarrasing ourselves. It is worth it.

So this year, being Whit's first Halloween, we couldn't let him miss out on all the fun. Yes, I caught a lot of heat from several people. I know, a baby's first Halloween means you are supposed to dress them up in some cutesy costume. Well, I think Whit did look cute, nerd glasses and all!
